Saddle Fitting Consultation
Saddle fitting services and consultations usually take up to 2 hours. The consultation will include:

A brief history of the rider, horse and saddle(s)

Assessment of horses conformation and muscle development

Take templates of horse’s back at T8 and T18 (bearing surface)
-
Horse and rider evaluation with current saddle (if deemed suitable), and/or different saddles for comparison.

Identification of any issues and recommended possible solutions/adjustments needed

These consultations can be done at your yard or at our base near Malpas SY14.

Pricing
£65 per horse – including travel within 20 miles of SY14.
Travel costs for additional miles:
21-30 miles: £15
31-40 miles : £25

Discounts available for multiple horses at the same yard.
​
Small adjustments such as gullet plate changes and partial flocking can be done on-site and is included in the saddle fitting price. If a large amount of flocking is needed this will be charged at £10 per saddle.
Saddle Flocking & Adjustments
MD Saddle Fitting and Flocking is fully trained and certified by the Society of Master Saddlers (SMS) to provide partial and full reflocking services. All saddles will be checked thoroughly for safety during a full reflock including:

Removing the panels from the tree

Checking the tree/springs/webbings for damage

Checking the flocking for lumps, hardness, hollows or unevenness

Checking stitching on entire saddle

Full reflock: £125
​
Leads times are approximately 1 week.
Delivery and collection of saddles can be provided free of charge for up to 20 miles from SY14
